                 CRUNCH 2010: Line-up Announced

“A space of discovery” The Guardian

“One of the UK’s hidden gems” GQ

The Institute of Art and Ideas is pleased to announce the return of Crunch: the Art and Music Festival at Hay. Artists, philosophers, politicians, novelists, sociologists, critics, and scientists will come together to ask the big question: what’s the point of art?

In the globe at hay, we’ll be joined by the likes of folk siren Laura Marling, leading rights advocate Bianca Jagger, Founder of The Museum of Everything James Brett, musical prodigy Brian Eno, White Cube’s Marc Quinn, Serpentine Director Julia Peyton-Jones, critic and broadcaster Matthew Collings, rock and roll journalist Paul Morley, Turner Prize-winning artist Martin Creed, Cabaret Futura founder Richard Strange, ICA Director Ekow Eshun, shooting stars Lulu & The Lampshades, BBC Arts Editor Will Gompertz, festival favourites Man Like Me and many, many more.

In the globe field, we’ll have the Tate Great British Art Debate Tent with a cabaret mix of talks, music and desert island art and outside pyrotechnic excitement with globe on fire. And we’ll be showing, and selling, work by some of the UK’s leading artistic talent and galleries at the Crunch Art Fair, a first for this year.

Engaging, irreverent and challenging. Be part of Crunch 2010, Hay’s best kept secret. For more information, see www.artfestivalathay.org.
